Orange Cyberdefense to Acquire Threat Intelligence Provider Lexsi

Orange enters into exclusive talks to acquire French threat intelligence services provider Lexsi.

Lexsi provides high-end auditing, consulting, incident response and training services in the field of IT security to more than 400 active customers. The acquisition would see Lexst become part of Orange Cyberdefense, the IT security services subsidiary of Orange Business Services, including adding Lexsi’s 170 staff.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2016.

Speaking to Infosecurity, director and analyst at Quocirca, Bob Tarzey said that this is an extension of the telco’s offering and like any mobile service provider, if the service you offer does not extend to security for your customers then there is a danger of being left behind.

“This underlines the need to recognise that part of your value-added service has to be security, and if you are not offering as good security service as you can, then you lose out,” he said.
