Infosecurity notes that last month's Patch Tuesday from Microsoft covered just two bulletins.

The critical flaws are said to affect all versions of Windows, as well as Internet Explorer. Microsoft has warned that users should be extra vigilant about the updates.

Commenting on tomorrow's Patch Tuesday, Alan Bentley, international vice president with Lumension, said: "The impact will be felt enterprise-wide with bulletins covering a large portion of Microsoft's range of operating systems and Windows and Office products."

Because of the number of updates, Lumension's Bentley added that it is strongly suggested that IT administrators plan ahead and prioritize this patch load as soon as possible.

Over at cloud security specialist Qualys, chief technology officer Wolfgang Kandek said the June release is a large update and will keep system administrators busy, even if they have migrated to Windows 7 already.

"Microsoft will also address two currently open vulnerabilities: in SharePoint – detailed in advisory KB983438 – and an information leakage in Internet Explorer, explained in advisory KB980088", he said, adding that some of the patches, including one of the critical ones require a machine reboot after installation.
