Check Point says that Liquid Machine's technology protects IP and sensitive information in corporate document and will be integrated into its own endpoint and DLP solutions.

The gameplan, says Check Point, is to help clients enable secure sharing of documents.

Liquid Machines specializes in data protection, having issued – and are in the process of issuing – 12 patents for document encryption, as well as content security.

Reporting on the acquisition, the eWEEK newswire quotes Ben Khoushy, Check Point's vice president, as saying his firm plans to sell and support Liquid Machines' existing products, and will be releasing new products based on the startup firm's technology next year.

Khoushy told the newswire that an organisation's ability to secure its content and data is a constant and increasing concern, adding that the deal is a natural extension for Check Point.

Gil Shwed, Check Point's founder and CEO, confirmed that the deal is a great one for his firm's data security portfolio.

"We've found Liquid Machines to provide the best technology for end-to-end data security and we are looking forward to having it as part of Check Point's security architecture", he said.
