As reported earlier this week by Infosecurity, Adobe published a major warning over the critical vulnerability in its Flash Player 10.0.45.2 and earlier editions for Windows, Apple Mac, Linux and Solaris platforms.

Adobe admitted that the vulnerability was being actively exploited in the wild against both Adobe Flash Player, and some versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat.

Websense, meanwhile, had reported that the vulnerability was being exploited with a batch of emails that lured recipients into opening links to infected website.

The BBC website this morning quoted Paul Betlam of Adobe's Flash engineering team as saying that "the update was a 'monumental undertaking' that made significant changes to the architecture of the software."
