Entitled `IT Security for the Next Generation,' the cybercrime conference forms part of the Kaspersky Academy education programme,

According to the veteran IT security company, students from universities, institutes of higher education and graduate schools are welcome to apply to present at the event, as well as attend.

Applications and papers for the cybercrime conference must be submitted by 15 September, 2009. More details can be found at Kapersky's website.

Kaspersky said that the event will bring together students, experts, scientists and researchers in a collaborative environment to present and discuss issues relating to cybercrime.

It will provide a platform for the next generation to be able to share their respective knowledge and experiences and to develop new ideas to improve the level of security in information technology.

Plans call for a programme committee - including Kaspersky Lab CEO Eugene Kaspersky - to evaluate the submissions.

Malcolm Tuck, Kaspersky Lab UK's managing director, said that professional scientific communities are especially relevant today and the company sees it as its duty to actively participate in the development of science.

The cybercrime event will, he said, bring together talented young scientists from different countries.

"We hope that the `IT Security for the Next Generation' conference will provide an opportunity for young specialists from all over the world to develop and exchange their ideas," he said.
