Trend Micro introduces next-gen security threat management services

12 October 2009

Trend Micro has launched a range of security threat management services that provide enterprises with what the company calls "a network security overwatch".

The aim of the new service, said Trend Micro, is to develop a layer of security that strengthens an organisation's existing security infrastructure against active, data-stealing malware that have evaded detection from their existing security solutions.

According to Trend Micro, its new threat management services uncover these threats and provide "proactive early warning, containment and remediation; allowing enterprises to gain increased protection, greater visibility and less management complexity".

Unlike security solutions that are unaware of active data-stealing malware infiltrations within the network, the services are billed as strengthening protection using three key components:

  • A network anti-malware technology that identifies, analyses and mitigates corporate-wide threat security issues.
  • A signature-less cleanup technology effective against known and new malware.
  • Trend Micro's global threat security experts to secure corporate data and offer security expertise for IT departments.

To introduce the new security services to enterprises, Trend Micro is offering a free two-week trial of the facilities.

Trend Micro said that, of the 130 security threat assessments conducted between October 2008 and August 2009, it discovered that 100% of all participating enterprises were infected with active malware.
