Authentication webinar to be held on Tuesday afternoon

And it's against this backdrop that Infosecurity is pleased to be hosting a webinar on the topic on Tuesday afternoon.

Entitled `understanding the need for best practices in enterprise authentication,' the event will see our panel of experts detail some of the issues, and the solutions to those issues, that IT professionals now face in a growing number of organisations.

Setting the scene for the event will be Peter Wood, partner and chief of operations with First Base Technologies, who will be looking at the challenges that IT professionals now face on the authentication front.

Peter, who is an ISACA conference committee member, will be focusing on the security problems of passwords and explaining some of the strategies plus solutions that can be deployed to assuage the problems.

Joining Peter will be Mike Moir, a senior product manager with Entrust, the sponsor of the event, who will detail the changing face of authentication, looking at issues such as how the increasingly mobile workforce and de-perimeterisation of networks is changing the face of authentication.

Mike will also look at how IT professionals can better defend their unmanaged devices and locations from the growing range of sophisticated attacks.

He will also seek to answer the perennial question about what are the right authenticators for an organisation's users.

The webinar will be moderated by Steve Gold, Infosecurity's technical editor.

Attendees at this educational and informative event - which is free to attend - will also get a chance to ask specific questions of the panel in the final segment of the webinar.
