New features include Personal Hotspot, which allows iPhone 4 devices to use the 3G cellular data connection from a different device when there is no wi-fi connection via tethering.
Nitro Javascript engine creates faster web browsing in Safari and wireless streaming via Airplay to HDTV from Apple devices has been extended to photo slideshows.
Other previously introduced features include wireless printing from iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices and multitasking for applications. Apple also fixed some bugs in Windows and OS X systems.
Apple released a beta version of the operating system to developers in January.
The update is available via Apple's app store, iTunes.
