Auslogics intros crowdsourcing benchmark tests for PC users

Auslogics, which is well-known down under for its free – and paid-for – security and PC enhancement software – says that BenchTown allows users to test all aspects of their computer performance and allows people to compare their results with the results of other users from all over the world.

The Sydney-based firm adds that BenchTown runs multiple system performance tests that push even the latest hardware to its limits. This, the firm notes, allows users to find out how fast their computers are and how much room there is for improvement.

In parallel with the launch of the software, Auslogics has launched BenchTown.com - a social networking site where computer users from around the world can compare their benchmarking score, discuss various system configurations, find out which hardware they need to upgrade and resolve issues that may be affecting the speed and performance of their computers.

In use, the software tests CPU speed, RAM capabilities, hard drive, 2D graphics and 3D gaming graphics to measure the users' PC performance accurately. At the end of the test, the application issues a score based on the performance of the computer, as well as generating a complete system performance and system configuration report that users can share with friends and other computer enthusiasts or use for troubleshooting.
