As part of its current cloud security strategy, content delivery network firm Akamai has acquired secure web gateway (SWG) technology provider Bloxx.
Established in 1999, the Edinburgh-based Bloxx is privately-funded with 55 employees and Akamai is confident that the SWG technology goes beyond traditional blacklisting and will be instrumental to its goal of bringing real-time risk assessment to market in 2016.
