The aim of BCAW 2011, says the institute, is to provide an educational event for people who would like to learn more about business continuity management and how they might benefit from its application.
The BCI, Infosecurity notes, is an international membership body for business continuity management (BCM) with over 5000 members in more than 90 countries.
This year's focus, the institute says, will be on the three key reasons for doing BCM that are relevant to senior and executive management: protecting value and reputation in a crisis, delivering competitive advantage through operational resilience, and providing transparent corporate governance and risk oversight.
Plans call for the week to be celebrated by a series of online seminars covering a variety of relevant subjects, as well as the unveiling of BC24, an online multi-player incident simulation game to test the skills of crisis management teams around the world with a live leader board.
The institute says that it will be posting a range of free-to-download case studies and research reports to provide evidence to support the value and application of BCM.
Plans call for the subjects to include supply chain resilience, the future of risk management, the business case for BCM, and a new guide on making smarter insurance decisions, when it comes to business disruption.
