Cloud Security Alliance & ISACA want industry input on cloud maturity

The cloud maturity survey is intended for business and technology users of cloud and those who provide cloud services, consult on cloud, or offer integration services, the nonprofit associations said in a release.

The survey will cover how well cloud service definitions are understood and accepted, what current expectations are, to what extent these expectations are being satisfied, and what the future will bring in terms of these expectations. It will also address the benefits obtained from innovative use of cloud and what influences innovation from a provider and user standpoint.

The survey will be open to the public through June 1, and can be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CloudMarketSurvey. Results are scheduled to be published by the CSA and ISACA in July.

Certainly, security is upper most in the minds of many when considering the maturity of the cloud. In a recent survey, more than half of senior IT practitioners polled by Wisegate said that it was too risking to move protected class data into the public cloud.

Only 16% of respondents said that they were moving ahead with cloud computing plans but emphasized they would need a comprehensive contract and a service-level agreement (SLA) agreement in place with the cloud provider. Another 25% said their organization was apprehensive about cloud computing but they have some near-term plans in place.
