CompTIA is teaming with digital forensics and security firm viaForensics to offer a new secure mobile application developer credential and security testing service for mobile apps.
Scheduled to be available in the first half of 2012, the secure mobile application developer credential and corresponding testing service are intended to meet the needs of software application vendors in their pursuit of qualified professionals to work in the mobile apps market, CompTIA said in a statement.
"Because mobile devices typically combine both personal and corporate data, they're a rich target for cybercriminals and hackers. CompTIA and viaForensics intend to elevate the level of security awareness among mobile app developers", said Todd Thibodeaux, president and chief executive officer of CompTIA.
The association’s cloud certification program, Cloud Essentials, covers a range of cloud computing principles and concepts.
Areas covered in the program include: configuration of networks, including archive, backup, and restoration technologies; business continuity and storage administration; system integration and application workload; and basic troubleshooting and connectivity.
“There are many more jobs that may not specifically mention cloud computing, but are directly tied to the cloud. These include jobs in a data center, which is the back end for anything involving cloud computing. Database management, network management, systems administration and integration and many other IT positions also have a cloud component”, explained Terry Erdle, executive vice president of skills certification at CompTIA.
