"International and intergovernmental co-operation is extremely important in the fight against cyber terrorism on a global scale," he told the Business Software Alliance (BSA) Cybersecurity Forum in Brussels.
As an international company, Kaspersky Lab has always supported this co-operation, says Eugene Kaspersky.
"Back in 2006 we were one of the first anti-virus companies to integrate cloud security technologies into our home-user products. Today it is essential to develop these solutions to in order to combat the new trends in cyber terror," he said.
Kaspersky believes cloud-based malware identification and information-sharing collaboration could eliminate up to 90% of malware.
The BSA Cybersecurity Forums are held on an annual basis in Brussels and Washington DC, bringing together leading thinkers, government policy makers and experts on IT security.
The events discuss the state of cybersecurity and priorities for its development and outline the next steps in protecting consumers, businesses and governmental IT networks.
This year discussions were focused on protecting personal data, reconciling data protection with cybersecurity and other policy objectives, as well as international data transfers in the age of cloud computing.
