Cybersecurity education and workforce development company CyberVista has announced the launch of its Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification test preparation program.
CyberVista will be the only approved live online CISSP program for (ISC)².
“Given the rapidly increasing cybersecurity threats facing businesses today, the need for more certified cybersecurity professionals has never been greater,” said CyberVista CEO Amjed Saffarini. “CISSP is globally recognized as a gold standard in cybersecurity certification. The program we announced today is just one of several initiatives CyberVista is planning to address the growing cybersecurity skills gap businesses and government agencies face.”
CyberVista’s program conducts an initial assessment of each student’s level of knowledge to deliver a personalized and efficient study plan. From there, 300+ hours of structured learning include more than 70 hours of live and on-demand expert instruction—courses will be offered online on weekday evenings to eliminate travel and minimize the impact on jobs and other obligations of working professionals.
The program utilizes a variety of delivery mechanisms, including lightboard technology and on-demand video, to provide the benefits of face-to-face instruction.
CyberVista’s test preparation also includes more than 2,000 practice questions, flashcards and CyberVista Quick Notes.
“Our test preparation program launching provides real-time instruction and the opportunity for students to learn from the best instructors—CISSP certified and (ISC)2 authorized—from around the country from the convenience of their living rooms,” said Jung Lee, head of certification test preparation programs at CyberVista. “CyberVista’s approach will not only help CISSP candidates prepare for and pass the exam, but also retain what they learn after the exam to better serve the businesses and organizations they’re securing and to fill the most in-demand job openings.”
Increasing the number of CISSPs in the workforce is an important part of improving the cybersecurity posture of both private and public sector organizations. Despite the fact that there are more than 105,000 CISSP certification holders in 160 countries worldwide, the need for CISSPs has far outstripped supply. A 2015 Burning Glass report shows demand for CISSPs skyrocketing, with job postings in major cities like Washington, DC, New York and San Francisco increasing 39%, 90% and 88%, respectively, from 2010-2014.
