Middle East war: Israeli, Arab hacking battle escalates

An Israeli hacker who identified himself as a soldier in an Israeli intelligence unit posted the information on the Pastebin site, according to a report by the Associated Press, which cited an Israeli newspaper as the source. The hacker said he was ready for a “hacking war” between Israelis and Arabs.

Earlier this month, Saudi hackers who claim they are members of Anonymous breached the Israeli ONE sports website and leaked personal information on 400,000 subscribers. The personal information included names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, and expiration dates of subscribers, although the Bank of Israel said that only 15,000 active credit card numbers were posted.

A few days later, a hacker claiming to be a 19-year-old Saudi national, using the pseudonym 0xOmar, posted credit card details and personal information of 6,000 Israelis online, and contended he had access to tens of thousands of other accounts, according to the AP report.
