Radware has announced the acquisition of Seculert, adding its automated attack detection platform to the product range.
Radware is a provider of application delivery and cybersecurity solutions for virtual, cloud and software defined data centers, and it said that the acquisition will enhance its attack mitigation system with access to heightened machine learning technology, and big data analytics tools to allow advanced threat analysis.
The Seculert platform, delivered as a service, automatically detects attacks inside the network and reveals which devices and users are compromised.
David Aviv, Radware’s chief technology officer, said: “The Seculert acquisition allows Radware to leverage machine learning technology and its data analytics platform in order to expand our core expertise beyond attack analysis to threat analysis, which provides a panoramic view of the data center’s posture.
“These capabilities expand Radware’s attack mitigation from real-time and near-time to include detection of stealth attack campaigns. The addition of Seculert’s cutting-edge technology and strong team support Radware’s commitment to bring best-of-breed innovation to our customers and partners.”

Adrian Sanabria, senior security analyst at 451 Research, told Infosecurity that he was not aware of Radware having anything that's focused on detecting attacks that have already penetrated exterior defenses, so that's the (sizeable) gap that Seculert fills for them.
“Seculert looks for attackers within the walls, while Radware defends the walls,” he said. “It's a good match – both Israeli, both entirely complementary – no overlap I can see.”
