SAI Global introduces free information security awareness barometer

Announcing the free online service, Iain McLeod, SAI Global's managing director, said that organisations today are having to look for more innovative ways to get employees thinking about information security.

"The new information security barometer provides an innovative and engaging way to promote the issue of information security quickly and to reinforce the fact that it is everyone's responsibility to help protect data", he said.

"We are offering the tool completely free of charge to all organisations, large and small, to help kick-start security awareness initiatives, or to support existing security awareness programmes", he added.

The online barometer is billed as walking employees through a set of realistic work-based information security scenarios. Each scenario, says the firm, highlights the importance of information security, whilst reinforcing the fact that it is everyone's responsibility to help minimise risk.

Taking just a few minutes to complete, the barometer concludes by giving each person their own personal information security awareness rating.

McLeod said that SAI Global knows that organisations struggle to implement security awareness initiatives that capture peoples attention.

"This tool will help put information security back at the forefront of employees minds in just a matter of minutes", he explained.
