Security B-Sides London's speaker line up revealed

As reported previously, the Security B-Sides events have been successful in the US and elsewhere by shadowing other commercial security conferences, and this UK event will be the first on this side of the Atlantic.

As well as the daytime event, plans call for the organisers to stage an aftershow party in the evening, as part of a link-up with DefCon.

According to the conference organisers, Security B-Sides London will include 19 talks from 22 presenters, with the event podcasts recorded for possible later playback online.

Matthew Summers, Security B-Sides London's co-founder and a consultant with Symantec, said that his group received more than 50 speaker submissions in response to our call for, all of which were of a very high calibre.

"To ensure the sessions were interactive the London team created an online web application to enable participants to vote on a selection of the talks they wanted to hear", he said.

"We are planning another event later this year, details of which are yet to be finalised, for those who were not successful this time will be invited to submit speaker talks again", he added.

Speakers lined up for the London event include:

"Social Media and security: Are they compatible?" Keynote by Dr Paul Judge, CRO with Barracuda Networks

"How not to get hired for a security job" by Stephen Bonner, head of risk management with Barclays

"Cloud computing due diligence - WTF" by James Blake, group CSO, Mimecast
