Targeted and blended threat attacks examined in Infosecurity webinar on Tuesday

And all the signs are that the tidal wave is getting worse.

So it's against this backdrop that Infosecurity is pleased be hosting a webinar on Tuesday afternoon looking at the problem of targeted attacks.

Sponsored by Websense, the 60 minute event – entitled 'Best Practices for Dealing with Targeted Attacks' – will feature Dr. Eugene Schultz, chief technology officer with Emagined Security, who will be explaining that the traditional security approach of making your defences better than other firms in your sector no longer works.

Along the way, Dr Schultz – who has published more than 120 papers on the subject of IT security – will be explaining his solutions strategy to this potential security headache, which involves developing a more effective intrusion detection system.

Joining Dr Schultz on the electronic podium will be Carl Leonard, senior security research manager with Websense EMEA, who will explain the reasons why targeted attacks are here, and are so effective, as well as solutions and strategies to deal with the problem.

During his presentation, Carl will be looking at the latest threats – including the Aurora range of blended threats – and detailing a security methodology to beat this new breed of hacker attacks.

Rounding out the panel will be Steve Gold, Infosecurity's technical editor, who has been observing and writing about IT security matters since the dawn of DOS in the 1980s.
