The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) has announced that Pete Chronis, chief information security officer for Turner Broadcasting Systems, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors as a Founding Board Member.
NTSC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization with a mission to drive the national dialogue on technology security in the United States. The idea is to effectively forge a coalition of information security stakeholders to help reverse the accelerating pace of disruption to the nation’s information systems.
NTSC’s primary initiative is advocating on regulatory and legislative policies that impact the technology security industry. Also, NTSC will conduct educational thought-exchange forums, and deliver professional development programs to equip members with innovative cybersecurity solutions.
“We are delighted that Pete has agreed to join the Board of Directors for the NTSC,” said Tino Mantella, president of the NTSC. “Over his career, Pete has worked at retail, media, entertainment, financial services and information technology companies. He has consistently proven to be an innovator, as well as an inventor, having developed a number of proprietary IT security technologies over the course of his career. Having Pete on the NTSC Board adds another strong CISO voice to the coalition.”
As the CISO for Turner Broadcasting, a $10 billion media, sports, and entertainment company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Chronis is responsible for Turner’s information security operations, architecture, governance, compliance and business continuity programs designed to protect the company and its global portfolio of more than 100 brands.
Prior to Turner, Pete was the chief security officer at US ISP EarthLink, where he was responsible for the company’s security program and product portfolio. He also developed sophisticated proprietary fraud detection systems for Lynk Systems, an Atlanta-based financial services company that was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland and is now called WorldPay.

The board also features CISOs from Aflac, Ellie Mae, AutoNation, HD Supply, Signet Jewelers, Synovus, InterActive Corporation, Epsilon, Motorola Mobility, TaxSlayer and the State of Georgia.
