ISSE 2009: CECA receives TeleTrusT Innovation Award 2009 for e-signing in Spanish banks

14 October 2009

TeleTrusT, the German IT security association, awarded the TeleTrusT Innovation Award 2009 to the Spanish Savings Banks Organisation (Confederación Española de Cajas de Ahorros, CECA) for its e-signing project at ISSE 2009 last week in The Hague.

CECA uses SignPads from Softpro for digitising handwritten signatures in Spanish savings banks combining the benefits of biometric signatures and cryptographic techniques in their application Firma Digitalizada.

Since the beginning of 2009, more than 10 000 tablets and software for e-signature capture have gone into production at workstations in Spanish savings banks.

Softpro developed its SignPadeSignio jointly with its long-term partner Wacom and is sometimes referred to under the name Wacom STU-500.

The second place for the TeleTrusT award at ISSE 2009, was taken by Sirrix AG for the solution Trusted VPN System – a distributed system for trusted virtual private networks which is easy to administrate.

Unlike other network encryption solutions, it uses a TPM embedded security core, integrated with virtualisation technologies, the entire security services on a single hardware platform, and is thus protected against network attacks.

Two companies tied for third place: Bundesdruckerei for their Modern Identity Management - Car Registration Scenario and ObjectSecurity for their application security tool Open PMF 2.0.
