Despite sinkholes and available decryption keys, ransomware has continued in its mighty pursuit of businesses and consumers. The WannaCry variant from May of this year brought ransomware to the front pages as businesses fell under its grasp.

As the evolution of ransomware is real, with a wormable threat spreading across networks, ransomware appears to be an untouchable vector, with victims too scared not to pay up. This session will look at the issue and search for solutions, or at least protections from ransomware.

  • The only solution to ransomware seems to be restoring from a back-up - will security ever find a cure?
  • What should victims of ransomware do?
  • How to protect against ransomware – and remediation in the event that you’re unsuccessful
