October 2017 sees the first Cybersecurity Awareness Month under the Presidency of Donald Trump. Since it began in 2004 under the Presidency of George W. Bush, this has championed the concept of cybersecurity to the American public, offering tips and best practices concerning how to stay safe online.

A panel will debate the concept of this awareness project, and ask how effective it is and how it could be improved to reap better consequence.

  • Do national cybersecurity awareness campaigns really have impact on the public?
  • Do awareness campaigns need buy-in from all sectors and society, in order to succeed?
  • Nine months in to the Trump Presidency, how seriously is he taking cybersecurity and what are his plans for the future of the awareness month?
  • How are the success metrics assessed?
