Pandemic planning - is your security and IT up to the challenge?

Date: 10 September 2009, 3pm BST
Duration: 1 hours

The incidence of swine flu is easing after a few scares in the summer, but all the signs are that the illness will be back with a vengeance this Autumn when people start returning to school and work after the holidays.

Some experts are predicting infection rates could keep as many as 15 per cent of the working population at home, a situation that is forcing many employers - often for the first time - to look at home working as an option for their employees, even those who have always been traditonally office-based.

As well as creating a logistical headache for IT managers, there are
new and unforeseen regulatory and security risks that also occur as a
result of a sizeable slice of the population working from home for at
least part of their working week.

In this timely and informative webinar we will look at the
communications and security strategy your IT department needs to take
when planning ahead for the fall-out of a swine flu pandemic.

Even if your staff are reasonably healthy, don't forget that if swine
flu really does take off there are a number of other factors that
could keep staff at home.

For exmaple - the transport infrastructure could start to fail,
especially in London, where it is tested to the limit most of
the time.

There are also reports of some schools remaining closed
after the start of the new term.

This webinar will:

  • Help you understand the need for home working planning on the communications and security fronts
  • Assist you in breaking down the logistics of home working into
    manageable and understandable parts
  • Explain the security changes required for remote access working
  • Detail some of the solutions available

This webinar is for:

  • Anyone in management or IT that has to plan for home working
  • IT managers concerned about the effect on their communications and
    security infrastructures
  • IT security managers wanting to know more on the remote working
    compliance and regulatory front
