Chris McGrath is a recognised leader in the development and delivery of national-level Active Counter-Information and Cyber Operations. With a proven background in UK Military Intelligence—where he supported numerous overseas operations with Specialist Military Units—Chris has since played a key role in advancing both UK and international resilience against Cyber and Information Operations (IO) threats.

Following his military service, Chris transitioned into the private defence and intelligence sector, leading initiatives that have strengthened the cyber capabilities of national programmes across the UK and abroad. He currently serves as a senior government board advisor and director at a prominent UK and EU-based Cyber Intelligence company. The organisation has worked closely with major international law enforcement and intelligence bodies—including the FBI, Europol, the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA), and others—on complex cyber operations. Notably, Chris and his team were publicly acknowledged for their involvement in the takedown of LockBit, one of the most significant cyber threats targeting US, UK, and EU interests.

Since 2019, Chris has also served as a leading advisor to Southeast Asia’s first hybrid public-private programme focused on Active Cyber Defence and National Security Strategy development. In his broader roles, Chris advises a major war risk insurer on cyber policy, loss prevention, and strategic risk assurance. He is also involved in an emerging UK-led private sector initiative aimed at advancing Active Cyber Defence and developing enhanced assurance frameworks.
