(ISC)² has announced the recipients of its fourth annual Americas Information Security Leadership Awards.

The Americas ISLA program recognizes the achievements of outstanding information security professionals who have led an industry initiative, program or project resulting in a more proficient, resilient information security workforce in Central, North and South America.

The 2014 Americas ISLA judges, a panel made up of senior-level information security professionals from (ISC)²’s North American and Latin American Advisory Boards, reviewed the nominations and selected individual recipients in four distinct categories and one additional special recognition award for community service.

Lisa Foremann-Jiggetts, president and CEO of Women’s Cyberjutsu, won the special Community Service Star Award for the Cyberjutsu Girls' Academy. She also won an ISLA in the Senior Information Security Professional category for the project.

She shared the limelight for the latter with Mario Chiock, cybersecurity executive for next generations at Schlumberger for the Data Centric Security project.

Meanwhile, in the Information Security Practitioner category, Nanditha Rao, global information security officer at CSC won for the Global Citizen Services project. And, in the Up-and-Coming Information Security Professional category, Candice Moschell, manager at Crowe Horwath, won for a HIPAA Security Risk Assessment project.

“Each year, I’m always impressed by the caliber of nominations we receive for the Americas ISLA program,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP, executive director of (ISC)², in a statement. “We were particularly encouraged to see more nominations for women leaders in information security this year. Each of these recipients is doing meaningful work that will help to shape the future information security workforce, and I’m proud to recognize each of them for their accomplishments.”
