Dr. Carrie Gates is the Innovation Director at the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) where she is responsible for driving discussions on how the financial industry can leverage emerging technologies in a safe and responsible manner. She is currently exploring the impact of audio deepfakes, generative AI, and post-quantum cryptography with the goal of helping financial organizations improve their security postures.
Prior to joining FS-ISAC, Carrie worked at Bank of America as a principal engineer, at Dell and CA Technologies as a distinguished engineer, and at a technology start-up as a co-founder. With nearly 20 years of experience operating at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity and improving product offerings and operational security, Dr. Gates has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and over 20 awarded patents. She received her PhD in computer security from Dalhousie University (Canada).
