Public IT has announced version 3 of its best-selling ISO/IEC 27001 document template set

The new version from Public IT includes 17 brand-new documents and builds on the experience of its customers in implementing the ISO/IEC 27001 standard, starting from a comprehensive, pre-written information security management system (ISMS).

The document template set includes all of the policies, plans, processes and procedures required by the information security standard, together with guidance notes for their implementation. The structure of the ISMS and the headings within each document map directly onto the standard and mean that, in many cases, only minor changes are needed before the documents can be put into productive use. Public IT said the templates are easily editable using any recent version of Microsoft Office, and they have the potential to shorten project lead times by many weeks and ensure that no important areas are forgotten.

“In an economy where time and cost-containment is at a premium, the ISO/IEC 27001 document template set enables agile organizations to achieve certification to the standard quickly and cost-effectively”, the company noted in a statement. “This is increasingly seen as the best way for forward-thinking suppliers to prove to customers that their information is protected and that their services are safe to use.”

Public IT said it welcomed the expected release by the ISO of an updated information security standard in late 2013/early 2014 and emphasized that all customers would receive a free upgrade to the document templates shortly after the new standard becomes available, supported by a free email help desk.
