WatchGuard offers managed services package for channel partners

Seattle-based WatchGuard is targeting the announcement at channel partners who will be able to use the additional services to better manage their customers' equipment. WatchGuard included remote management security features in its Fireware XTM-based multifunction security appliances as part of the announcement. This lets its resellers monitor security risks for their customers across the internet.

The security service, which is being rolled out to channel partners on a global basis, is designed to allow WatchGuard resellers to bolt together different combinations of firewall, intrusion prevention, and secure virtual private network services as a bundled offering for their customers, the vendor explained.

Other options include web blocking, URL filtering, spam protection, and anti-virus. WatchGuard's managed security offering also lets partners provide their customers with a variety of reports detailing their security status. And they can benefit from 24 hour alerts sent to their phone or email to help keep them abreast of the latest risks and threats to their network.

WatchGuard's MSSP program also includes access to LiveSecurity, a rapid response service providing resellers with up-to-date information on security threats and best practices.

Managed services partners will be able to provide the services to their customers while taking advantage of the WatchGuard financing program in the US, helping resellers and systems integrators to get up and running with the fixed-revenue services they provide while minimizing their initial outlay.
