The not-for-profit IT security association - which now has 95,000 members worldwide - says that the EuroCACS event will keynote with David Smith, the deputy information commissioner, who will be discussing the challenges posted by personal privacy expectations from customers and regulators.
Smith will also be looking at how IT professionals can strengthen public confidence in data protection.
EuroCACS stands for the European Computer Audit, Control and Security Conference, and the Manchester event will be split into 12 streams - client computing, cloud computing and virtualisation, computer forensics, governance, risk and compliance, information architecture, managing IT investment, outsourcing, privacy, regulations and compliance, risk management, social computing, and sustainability.
Commenting on the planned four-day schedule, Peter Thompson, ISACA's Northern England chapter president, said that the event is a great place for delegates to get the latest guidance on the issues that keep them awake at night.
"Attendees will learn valuable tips and solutions to add value to their enterprises, he said.
As well as the 12 main streams, ISACA says that there will be six optional pre- and post-conference workshops available.
