How to...build trust in the cloud

The webinar - entitled `Building Trust in The Cloud - features Adrian Davis, Principal Research Analyst with the Information Security Forum and Keiron Northmore, chief of operations with First Base Technologies, the pen testing specialist.

In his presentation, Adrian will talk about the seven deadly sins of cloud computing, noting that in many organisations, few people are actually aware that the cloud is used - until, of course, something goes wrong. And then, naturally enough, he will say, they take an active interest in the technology.

Keiron, meanwhile, will be talking about his observations as a professional pen tester in the real world and what strategies and recommendations he makes to his clients.

According to Keiron, one definition that needs to be understood amongst IT security professionals is that the cloud separates the application and information resources from the underlying infrastructure, and the mechanisms used to deliver them.

Moderating the event will be Steve Gold, Infosecurity's technical editor, who will be hosting a question and answer session in which the panel will answer questions such as how easy is to configure security in a cloud environment - is it, for example, as easy as setting via a dashboard in a local server system?

Also during the Q&A session, both presenters will give their advice on security strategies for those organisations thinking about migrating over to a cloud environment.
