(ISC)2 offers live online CISSP review seminar

04 June 2009

Florida-based information security education and certification provider (ISC)2 has introduced Live OnLine Official (ISC)2 CISSP CBK Review Seminar, said to be the first online certified information systems security professional (CISSP) learning courses with live instructions.

The seminar offers a review of the 10 CISSP common body of knowledge (CBK) domains and identifies areas where participants need more information. (ISC)2 says the seminar includes current material, examples, illustrations and experiences from CISSPs, a real-world-based overview over the relevant areas of the information security field, and a post-seminar self-assessment.

Live OnLine provides the same quality instruction as our award-winning, in-person seminars but it is accessible anywhere and virtually any time, allowing busy professionals to take the classes at their convenience with no travel expenses required, especially important for many companies in these difficult economic times”, said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director of (ISC)2.

“While we have offered self-paced e-Learning courses for several years, for the first time now, Live OnLine offers the same convenience of those courses while adding invaluable interaction with a knowledgeable instructor.”

The course is delivered in two separate two-hour sessions per week over 10 weeks and can be accessed from personal computers. The material is archived and can be accessed at any time, (ISC)2 said.

The seminar covers:

  • Access control
  • Application security
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery planning
  • Cryptography
  • Information security governance and risk management
  • Legal, regulations, compliance and investigation
  • Operations security
  • Physical (environmental) security
  • Security architecture and design
  • Telecommunications and network security
