Candidates for (ISC)² certification exams can register for computer-based testing (CBT) at Pearson VUE test centers around the world beginning June 1

The exams being offered worldwide via CBT include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certifications. Currently, those exams are offered via CBT only in Latin America.

(ISC)² has been conducting a CBT pilot with a number of its certification exams, including the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) and Certification Authorization Professional (CAP) exams at approved Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide, as well as the CISSP and SSCP in Latin America.

“Early pilot programs offering the CISSP exam via CBT have proven successful. We hope that completing this transition from paper-based to computer-based testing will make certification a reality for more qualified candidates than ever before and help meet the acute demand for information security professionals”, said W. Hord Tipton, executive director for (ISC)².

(ISC)² is expanding its list of approved testing center locations within Pearson VUE’s testing network, which includes more than 275 Pearson VUE-owned Pearson professional centers, the Pearson VUE authorised test center select network, and Pearson VUE authorised test centers located on US military installations around the world.

Easier access to certification exams via CBT will address the needs of both employers and professionals, Tipton noted. The (ISC)2 Global Workforce Study found that 60% of respondents reported that they were looking to add at least one or more new certification to their information security toolkits.
