The IT security vendor says that the technology enhances standards-based federation security with flexible multi-factor authentication and adds an extra layer of security for the single sign-on process.
The technology - which is claimed to be compatible with Sun OpenSSO Enterprise, CA Federation Manager, Novell Access Manager and Google federated security - also includes support for multiple identity federation protocols, including SAML and WS-Federation.
When the technology ships in its commercial format, TriCipher says it can be used for auto provisioning between partners using federation assertions, and will support flexible, tokenless multi-factor authentication,
John De Santis, the firm's chairman, said that deploying web single sign-on without the protection of multi-factor authentication is like driving a car without a seatbelt.
"It's a scenario that ultimately results in a phishing attack or a blatant misuse of accounts, which businesses cannot afford," he said.
"We know that this demonstration will convince businesses and web application providers alike to insist on federation and strong authentication for online identity," he added.
De Santis went on to say that the standards are available, the technology is ready, and the time has now come to do online identity the right way.
