Having reengineered the platform for the service, Trend Micro is now offering a 100% uptime service level agreement, with penalties that it says are up to three times stronger than those offered by other vendors. It claims to block 99% of spam or more, and will filter out all email-based viruses, the company vows.
It promises a false positive rate for spam of no more than three emails for every one million received, and says that it will ensure the delivery of email in under a minute, no matter where its users are in the world.
"In addition, we're including our #1 rated anti-malware technology to ensure that customers have the very best solution to stop malicious URLs embedded in their email," said Eric Jensen, senior product marketing manager for Trend Micro, adding that the company will provide a moneyback guarantee on its promises.
Finally, Trend Micro will provide a response within a preset time frame based on the severity of an incident, it said in a statement.
West Coast Labs found that Trend Micro's previous version of hosted email security – InterScan Messaging Hosted Security (IMHS) – was the top-rated email security solution when compared to other leading vendors, Trend Micro claimed.
As it did before, Trend Micro will offer standard and premium versions of the service. It will automatically upgrade existing customers at both service levels. Trend Micro Hosted Email Security starts at $40 per user. Trend Micro Hosted Email Security – Inbound Filtering starts at $32 per user.
